Biography

Douglas D. Lee is a shareholder in the Estate Planning Practice Group of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown, P.C., concentrating his practice in the areas of Estate and Special Needs Planning, Guardianships, Trust and Probate Administration, and Probate and Trust Litigation. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Lee is the co-author of "Trust Contests" (Missouri Bar Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Custodianships and Nonprobate Matters Deskbook, 1998, 2001 Supplement). He is also the author of "McDermott v. AmClyde: Arkansas" Wake-Up Call in Accounting for Settlements in Multi-Defendant Litigation?" (Arkansas Law Review, 48:4).

Mr. Lee received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in 1990 and his law degree, with honors, in 1995 from the University of Arkansas. While at the University of Arkansas, Mr. Lee served as a member of the Arkansas Law Review. In 1996, Mr. Lee received his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He is licensed to practice in Missouri as both an Attorney and as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Lee has participated in a number of professional, charitable and community activities. He is the past Treasurer of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Springfield-Greene County Library Foundation , and is a member of the Leadership Springfield Class of 2004-2005 (Springfield Chamber of Commerce). In addition to the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, Mr. Lee is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and the Greene County Estate Planning Council.
